Crew is b2b: Back 2 Bargaining!
Inter-union cookout, SGW campus, 2 June 2026
Dear CREW members,
Our collective agreement expired on May 31, 2026. Importantly, all terms and conditions of the previous agreement remain in effect until a new agreement is negotiated and ratified. We are now officially in bargaining for a new collective agreement.
ICYMI: We Rejected the Extension
Over the Winter 2026 semester, Concordia negotiated a two-year contract extension with CUFA (Concordia University Faculty Union) which was the basis of the rollover agreement proposed to several other Concordia unions. CREW passed a mandate at our Demands SGA this spring to conduct negotiations for a new collective agreement and therefore, along with 6 other Concordia unions, we refused this extension.
The primary purpose of unions is collective bargaining, and we have no intention of forgoing that duty and privilege. CREW, CUSSU (Concordia University Support Staff Union), CUUSS-TS (Concordia University Union of Support Staff - Technical Sector), STTMC (Syndicat des travailleuses et des travailleurs des métiers de Concordia - SGW + Loyola), CULEU (Concordia University Library Employees' Union), and CUCEPTFU (Concordia University Continuing Education Part-time Faculty Union) all have a shared interest in using our bargaining power to fight for better wages and working conditions.

Bargaining Timeline
Following our refusal, the employer has issued a notice to bargain and signaled a continued commitment to austerity measures. We expect negotiations to begin this summer and will share details as soon as our first session is scheduled.
Get involved!
CREW has adopted an Open Bargaining mandate, meaning negotiations will be open to all members, transparent, participatory.
If you want a real say at the bargaining table and in shaping our next collective agreement, join us at open bargaining sessions! We will also continue offering training to prepare members for what to expect and how to engage in bargaining. If you’re interested in attending negotiation sessions, sign up with the form below.
Open Bargaining doesn’t just happen at the table! The Bargaining Committee is also looking for members to help with research, communication, and drafting demands language. If you have any skills that might be useful in bargaining, or a will to learn something new, you can fill out the form and we’ll be in touch to start working together.
If you have any questions, contact the bargaining officer.
